Halloween presence: Madame Tussauds’ ‘Subway Station’ where you sleep with nightmarish figures

[It’s apparently too late (and too expensive), but Madame Tussauds is offering a unique presence experience for Halloween, as described in this story from DesignTAXI; see the original for more images, and the Madame Tussauds press release for more information. For much more on presence-evoking Halloween experiences this year, and a new Las Vegas attraction that will be open all year, see a recent story in Blooloop. –Matthew]

Madame Tussauds Opens ‘Subway Station’ Where You Sleep With Nightmarish Figures

It’s time to go to bed with one eye open, and maybe keep a bulb of garlic under your pillow. Madame Tussauds New York and InterContinental New York Times Square have conjured up a chilling overnight stay right at the doorstep of Warner Bros Icons of Horror, where demonic wax figures will watch you sleep.

Guests daring to enter this macabre setup, staged to resemble a subway station in Manhattan, will find a refuge from the darkness, complete with cozy accommodations and a well-stocked mini bar for those in need of liquid courage.

There, they can fall prey to immersive scenes plucked from the frightful world of Warner Bros and New Line Cinema’s horror classics. The eerie room first opened its doors on Friday the 13th of this month, and it will welcome unsuspecting visitors once again on Halloween night, on Tuesday, October 31.

Guests can, for example, have a tea party with the malevolent Annabelle in a child’s bedroom. Perhaps they’ll get terrorized by Pennywise, the dancing clown from IT, lurking in the Neibolt house’s darkest and most decrepit corners.

Experience the original possession with Regan from The Exorcist, floating eerily above her bed. Will you escape her chilling grasp?

If you don’t intend on getting some shut-eye that night, you can try confronting The Nun from The Conjuring Universe.

Before the real scares commence, guests will be treated to a spine-chilling private dinner and drinks inspired by horror films. The entire journey for two starts from US$4,000, and will include all-inclusive tickets to the complete Madame Tussauds experience during regular hours, craft cocktails inspired by the demonic figures lurking nearby, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the wax figure studio.

Scaredy-cats who’d rather get tucked into a safety blanket will be relieved to know that a secondary luxurious accommodation at InterContinental New York Times Square awaits, where they’ll be able to enjoy breakfast options at the hotel’s Stinger Cocktail Bar & Kitchen or via room service.

Horror enthusiasts who are ready for a night they’ll never forget, or perhaps, one they’ll never want to remember, can try making their bookings at least five days in advance by calling 212-803-4580 or emailing ictsqsales@ihg.com.
