We are seeking high quality applicants for four (4) research fellow positions. Successful applicants will become key contributors to the Microsoft Research Centre in Social Natural User Interfaces at the University of Melbourne (http://www.socialnui.unimelb.edu.au/)

The SocialNUI centre addresses social consideration arising from new forms of human-computer interactions beyond those in the keyboard and mouse, in particular those supporting human gesture and voice. The SocialNUI centre operates as an autonomous research centre within the Department of Computing and Information Systems, at the University of Melbourne.

The research within SocialNUI will broadly address four domains of human activities: the home, public spaces, education and health. It is expected that the centre will grow to a research team of more than 20 people over the next three years. There will be opportunities to collaborate with world-leading Microsoft researchers in global locations including Redmond (USA) and Cambridge (UK).

Successful applicants will work closely with other researchers on one or more projects and will participate in the supervision of one or more graduate students. The candidate will conduct independent research, leading to the preparation and publication of research outcomes in conferences and journals.

The position is full-time and fixed term till 31 Dec 2017. The start date is flexible. Position Description & Selection Criteria and further details are available at http://go.unimelb.edu.au/98gn.

Applications close on 26 April 2015

For further enquiries contact Frank Vetere, Director, Social NUI at f.vetere@unimelb.edu.au. Additionally, [Frank] will be at Seoul attending CHI 2015, and happy to answer other questions about these positions.
