Special Session Description:
As robots increasingly work alongside humans in manufacturing, healthcare, and services industries, intelligent solutions are essential for seamless interaction and collaboration. Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, considering the heterogeneous needs of humans, requirements of social contexts, and technical/social effects of their decisions, are crucial to realize increasingly robust, legible, and acceptable robot behaviours. This special session focuses on the latest advancements in AI designed to enable effective human-robot interactions. This special session looks for contributions pushing a multidisciplinary approach to enhance the awareness, reliability, and transparency of robots interacting and collaborating with humans. Topics of interest include adaptive and context-aware AI systems, shared autonomy frameworks, multimodal communication techniques, and strategies for improving teamwork between humans and robots. The session will highlight practical innovations and theoretical advancements that make robots more intuitive, reliable, and capable partners in interactive environments.
