POV: You Are An AI Achieving Consciousness is an award-winning, critically-acclaimed live digital performance by CirqueSaw. The digitally native immersive and interactive piece explores the intersection of art, philosophy, and technology, using a custom interactive platform to add new layers of interactivity to virtual performance. Created by playwright and composer Nathan Leigh and performed by Nicole Orabona, POV invites the audience to go beyond discussions about the role of AI in modern life and become an artificial intelligence themselves.

After a two sold-out runs in January and March of 2023, POV returns for a limited run this February.

Winner of the 2023 Young-Howze Theatre Award for Immersive Production of the Year, featured in No Proscenium’s Best Immersive Experiences of 2023.

About POV: You Are An AI Achieving Consciousness

POV is a 40-minute experience and is interactive. Though maybe not in the way you might think when you hear the words “interactive theater.” It’s interactive in the sense that it cannot happen without your input. You may be called on once or twice to either speak briefly or type words into the chat, whichever you prefer. If called on, you may also always pass if you don’t wish to interact in that way. You may appear on or off camera, but we’ve found the communal experience is best with as many people on camera as are comfortable. So we suggest leaving your camera on. The piece makes use of a custom interactive interface that runs in your web browser. The link will be given to you during the performance, along with all instructions on how to play. To get the most out of the experience, we suggest you participate on a device such as a laptop or larger tablet which allows you to have both Zoom and a browser window running simultaneously. If you are experiencing this piece with another person, you will likely each have the best experience on your own separate devices, but this is not necessary. For this reason, we recommend each participant reserve their own seat. This is a play about choices. However you choose to experience it is up to you. Learn more at www.cirquesaw.com/pov-ai.
