PLEY – Eye Tracking in Play and Sports Workshop*
Co-located with ETRA 2023 – ACM Symposium of Eye Tracking Research & Applications
May 30 – June 2, 2023 (exact day TBA) | Hybrid
Workshop: https://pleyws.wordpress.com/
ETRA 2023: http://etra.acm.org/2023/
Paper Submission Deadline: February 25, 2023
Among the many application areas of eye tracking, games and sports have become an increasingly popular domain for leveraging this technology to 1) build novel experiences for players and sportsmen and 2) to gain a better understanding of players’ cognitive processes during gameplay and sports activities. Games and sports pose unique challenges for using gaze technology due to their complex, dynamic, and sometimes very fast-paced environments.
This workshop specifically targets the challenges of using, gathering, and analyzing eye tracking data faced in gaming and sports. The workshop is of particular interest for researchers in game design, sports, human-computer interaction (HCI), eye tracking, data science, and visualization. We want to establish a shared venue for this diverse community to enhance the current state-of-the-art and help develop the community further.
* Previously, the ‘Eye Tracking in Games and Play Workshop’. For the 4th edition we expanded the scope to also include all facets of play within the area of sports.
