The TU Dresden Immersive Experience Lab (IXLAB.io) conducts interdisciplinary research into the perceptual foundations, applications and creative possibilities of immersive media. Current projects include immersive psychotherapy, data visualisation and immersive architecture, embodied AI and a-life, immersive theatre and music and research in multisensory perception.

We have an opening for a postdoctoral researcher or PhD candidate in the field of immersive media. The position is suitable both for postdocs or for those seeking to write a PhD.

Tasks: Collaborating with scientists, engineers and artists from various disciplines to develop immersive experiments, applications and artistic creations; leading development of a large multi-user mixed-reality platform; maintenance of technical facilities and infrastructure; publishing and present research results at international conferences and in academic journals, supervising student employees, teaching and supervising student research projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop his or her own courses.

Requirements: good university degree and – if applicable – PhD degree in computer science or engineering or related subjects. Strong C++ or C# and GPU programming and real-time 3D graphics and game-engine experience (e.g. Unreal, Unity). Fluency with written and spoken English (knowledge of German is not necessary, but advantageous).
