Call for papers: HCI for Health Services

The future of Health Service delivery is not constrained by in-clinic consultation, formal appointment schedules, paper based education, expensive equipment and poorly engaged patients. Advances in areas such as mobile computing, pervasive computing, sensing technologies, and VR/AR are enabling powerful new technologies that have the potential to change when, where, and how health interventions are delivered. Technology availability is a prerequisite for change in health service delivery, but true change can only happen if technologies are accepted, evaluated and adopted.

In this workshop we bring together researchers and practitioners who are making crucial contributions to the success of digital health services through HCI. The introduction of new interactive technologies in healthcare is challenging and we will explore an array of HCI research covering a variety of health services domains, each with their own challenges. We will focus on barriers to conducting HCI research, including communicating the value of HCI in interdisciplinary teams, working with clinicians, patients and carers.

This workshop will bring together leaders, experts, academics, clinicians and professionals in HCI and UX to gain and share the latest HCI and UX insights on topics including (but not limited to):

• Mobile computing and user mobility
• Affective computing
• Virtual/augmented reality
• Human Robot Interaction
• Wearable Technology
• Brain Computer Interface
• Sensing & Pervasive Computing
• We seek novel, innovative, and exciting work in areas including but not limited to:
• Identifying and addressing stakeholder needs
• Usability and acceptability
• Barriers and enablers to adoption
• Diversity: population and condition-specific requirements
• Digital interventions and health behaviour change

Submissions must be no more than 4 pages and follow the OzCHI template (http://www.ozchi.org/2016/template.html#top).
