We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer to contribute to our increasingly popular BSc(Hons) and MComp Games Computing programmes. Candidates should demonstrate an enthusiasm and ability to deliver high-quality teaching, covering various aspects of game development, at HE level. The successful candidate will also contribute to the development of games-related research within the School of Computer Science, and should possess a PhD, be close to completing a PhD, or have equivalent experience in a relevant subject area. The post could also suit a recently completed doctoral student, or an experienced industry professional wishing to pursue PhD study. The school has a broad interest in games-related research and entertainment computing; relevant areas of activity include, but are not limited to:

  • Social games, social computing and game analytics
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous systems in games contexts
  • Serious games, behaviour change and gamification
  • Mobile and mixed reality gaming

For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, candidates should, in addition, be able to demonstrate a track-record of high-quality international research outputs, and evidence an ability to seek external research income, encourage or facilitate commercial enterprise, and supervise postgraduate research students as well contribute to wider activities of the School.

The School of Computer Science at the University of Lincoln scored highly in RAE2008 with 85% of its outputs ranked at international quality or better with 15% ranked world-leading. In the most recent NSS the School was ranked in the top 20%.  It offers a range of taught programmes in computer science and information systems with approximately 450 full-time students. The School is located at the University’s £100million Brayford Pool development – the first new city centre university campus to be built in the UK for 25 years.
