CALL FOR ENTRIES

We are pleased to announce that as part of INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATIONS (ITA 13), Glyndwr University will present its first Art Expo promoting the work of artists and designers working in new or emerging media or using creative technologies in their work. The Expo is intended as a knowledge-sharing and ideas generation event and will form part of the conference proceedings from 10th to the 13th September 2013. Exhibitors are invited to talk about their work at the Art Expo workshop, which is a full-day event on Thursday 12th September.

Within the context of internet technologies and their increasing application in the world around us we are looking for submissions which explore internet and digital technologies as they manifest in contemporary art practice and suggest the following themes as starting points for discussion: creative technologies, art and science, art and technology cultural environments, cultural sustainability, data-play and glitch aesthetics, networked performance, telepresence, digital interactivity, creative entrepreneurship, cultural ecologies.

The Expo invites a range of difference forms of submission. We are calling for:

  • Practice based submissions which explore or interrogate the conference themes
  • Full theoretical, historical, contextual or educational papers or reports on practice in relation to the conference themes
  • Performances, demonstrations or workshops responding to the conference themes

  • Art work/practice based submission
  • Theoretical/contextual paper
  • Report on practice (poster)
  • Performance
  • Demonstration
  • Workshop

Proposals are now invited for submission and should be submitted through the ITA’13 conference system at http://ita13.org/

COST

The cost of the workshop is £100.00, payable via the ITA’13 registration system (available Spring 2013). Delegates who register for the full ITA conference will be eligible to attend the workshop for free.

IMPORTANT DATES

Notification to authors: Friday 5th April 2013
