Over the last decade interaction has been moving away from the desktop to new ways of interacting. People expect to interact on the go, and in different locations, and preserve their user experience no matter what technology they are using. In this special session we call for papers that address new and emerging technologies for advanced interaction. Papers should be no more than 6 pages long and address current research in one or more of the following (non-exclusive) topics

  • Advances in multimodal interaction
  • Advances in mobile and wireless interaction
  • Personal area networks and wireless sensors
  • Ubiquitous Computing
  • Advances in remote cooperation
  • Virtual, augmented and mixed reality
  • Future gaming
  • Advances in interaction devices
  • Embodied and Tangible Interaction
  • Advances in UI software technology

Papers are particularly sought that attempt to bring together 2 or more topic areas. Papers will be selected on their relevance to the session and their timeliness

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers published in the conference proceedings. The proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publication Services (CPS) and will appear in the Computer Society Digital Library indexed in IEEEXplore and other related indices. Extended versions of selected papers will be considered for publication in the special issue of the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing (Inderscience Publishers; http://www.inderscience.com/browse/index.php?journalCODE=ijaisc).

Submission of Papers: Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length papers (not exceeding 6 pages) by 15th June 2011.

Submitted papers should conform to the IEEE format (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html) and will be handled and processed electronically via the EDAS online submission system (http://edas.info/newPaper.php?c=9545).

Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present their paper. Further details can be found at http://www.dese.org.uk.
