An important announcement: The International Society for Presence Research has established a new group on Facebook, the ISPR Presence Community group, and you’re invited to join. • ISPR News: A milestone

As managing editor I want to note a milestone: This is the 3,000th post of ISPR Presence News. Combined with the 2,719 posts in its predecessor, the Presence-L listserv, I’ve posted over 5,700 informational items related to (tele)presence since July 1999. See the FAQ for a short explanation of why I’ve done it, but I remain as intrigued with the topic as ever and see amazing things ahead for presence (though maybe not as quickly as some), and for ISPR – watch this space later this week for an announcement about our 2016 conference event and more. • Regarding technical snafus (from managing editor Matthew Lombard)

Apologies for yesterday’s (and occasional other) technical failures that have resulted in the inconsistent distribution of ISPR Presence News posts. I’ll spare you the always frustrating and usually mysterious explanations and just remind you that you can now access posts via individual, daily and weekly digest emails, Facebook, Twitter, RSS feed and/or the ISPR web site. More details are on the subscription page of the ISPR web site and in this FAQ post. If you have questions, concerns, suggestions, etc., please contact me directly at lombard@temple.edu. Best regards from Philadelphia, Matthew Lombard Managing editor, ISPR Presence News…

We’re opening the group to both past and current members of ISPR, including anyone who has attended one of the 15 ISPR (and pre-ISPR) Presence conferences. Of course unfortunately there’s no perfect or universal venue for this, but if you use (or have been thinking of using) Facebook and…

[Image © M/G Felnhofer] Great thanks to the many people who made the ISPR 2014 conference in Vienna such a success, especially the Conference Chairs Anna Felnhofer and Oswald D. Kothgassner. It was another wonderfully productive, interesting and very enjoyable Presence conference (watch ISPR Presence News for announcements about the next conference as well as other ISPR developments). The official conference Proceedings are available now in book form from Amazon and Facultas and will be available via links to Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files containing each paper on the ISPR web site beginning this September (they’re listed there now). We had…
