Submission deadline: October 15, 2021

The Communication and Technology Interest Group is requesting paper and panel submissions for the 113th Annual ECA Convention in (TBA). The convention theme, (Re)union, emphasizes the importance of conference like ECA, in which we meet to confer regarding our individual interests, problems, and challenges.

Our division sits between the tension our desire to meet, while also providing the very tools that make meeting seem unnecessary. Communication technology can be used to assist individuals in successfully accomplishing certain communication tasks, while also complicating the way in which we communicate personally and professionally. As communication technology scholars, we need to understand how technology adoption and mediated communication can also encourage meetings in local and global networks. At this year’s conference we welcome individual paper and panel submissions that incorporate reunion and meeting into communication technology research, service, pedagogy, and/or practice.

Papers and panel proposals must be submitted electronically by October 15, 2020 at 11:59 PM (PST). The Communication and Technology Interest Group of ECA utilizes Attendee Interactive to manage all submissions and blind-reviews:

The Communication and Technology Interest Group invites two types of submissions:
