Paper submission deadline: September 3, 2021
This three-day international conference is targeted at early career researchers (Master’s students, PhD students, Post-Docs) in the area of spoken human-machine interaction who take a human-centered approach to the topic. While we would like to emphasize linguistic aspects, we also invite researchers from related fields such as psychology, cognitive science, sociology, and computer science to contribute their perspectives. Possible topics include, but are not limited to individual differences related to personality and cognitive processing, speaker behavior and attitudes towards artificial interlocutors, dynamic processes such as accommodation, effects of interaction with synthetic voices.
The conference will feature regular oral and poster sessions, ample opportunity for discussion, and invited speakers approaching the topic of spoken human-machine interaction from various angles.
The conference is supported by the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) at the University of Freiburg. We are committed to creating an accessible event. Please get in touch if you need assistance, e.g. sign language interpretation. The entire event will be held online.
