Call for Chapters: Emerging Technologies in Virtual Learning Environments
Submission of Proposals Deadline: June 15, 2018
We are inviting proposals for chapters for an edited book “Emerging Technologies in Virtual Learning Environments” to be published by IGI Global in 2019.
My colleagues and I have been researching the way virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality are having an impact on ways people communicate and learn with technology. Virtual Learning Environments at schools and in Higher Education Institutes embracing these emerging technologies are being adopted quickly. The challenge is to identify where and how these applications are able to provide objective evidence of improvements in learning outcomes or behavioural changes and a book that systematically addresses such issues is badly needed and will be helpful to research and practice.
Below please kindly find the Call for Chapters. Please contact us with your ideas and suggestions for a chapter if you would be interested in writing a chapter for the book. Recommended topics include but are not limited to the following, so other proposals would be most welcome:
- Virtual reality technologies
- Augmented reality technologies
- Mixed reality technologies
- Head-mounted displays
- Virtual and augmented reality utilization in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) topics
- Virtual and augmented reality utilization in military scenarios
- Virtual and augmented reality for remote collaboration
- Virtual and augmented reality in robotics.
- Virtual and augmented reality in hospitals.
- Virtual reality 360-degrees video-making
- Virtual reality 360- degrees media news-casting
- Virtual and augmented reality 3D Modeling
- Virtual and augmented reality gaming in education (gamification)
- Virtual and augmented reality data visualization
- Virtual and augmented reality future scenarios
- Virtual and augmented reality immersive learning environments
- Mixed reality immersive learning environments
- Mixed reality architecture
- Mixed reality media
