The Department of Informatics is growing its capability for interdisciplinary and applied research while maintaining a strong presence in the core discipline. As part of this strategy, which will be delivered through a number of appointments over the coming year, we seek an excellent researcher and teacher to help us develop one of two key areas – Human Computer Interaction – where there is a very strong potential for interdisciplinary work within as well as beyond our University.
We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong track record in Virtual Reality/ Augmented Reality (VR/AR). Outstanding applicants in the following areas will also be considered: Interaction Design, Experience-centred Design, Service Design, Ubiquitous Computing, and Physical Computing.
You will be expected to conduct high-level innovative research and teaching, including the publication of research, development of teaching materials, research supervision and income generation through research grants, consultancy, and/or knowledge transfer.
A lecturer position in the UK is similar to an assistant professorship in the North-American system.
