The Institute for Media Innovation (IMI), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is pleased to host The 19th ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST2013), from 6-9 October 2013 on the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) campus. The event will be sponsored by ACM SIGCHI and SIGGRAPH.

VRST2013 will provide a great opportunity to interact with leading experts, share your own work, and educate yourself through exposure to the research of your peers from around the world. We seek original research full papers and short papers covering topics including, but not limited to:

  • Computer Graphics Techniques for VR
  • Immersive Projection Technology
  • Advanced Display Technology
  • Tele-operation and Tele-presence
  • Performance Testing & Evaluation
  • Interaction Techniques
  • Modeling and Simulation
  • Real-Time Rendering
  • Real-Time Physics-based Modeling
  • Tracking and Sensing
  • Avatars and Virtual Humans in VR
  • Natural Interface
  • Augmented and Mixed Reality
  • Multi-user and Distributed VR
  • Ergonomics
  • Haptics / Audio Interface
  • Applications of VR, such as Training Systems and Serious Games
  • 3D Interaction for VR
  • Perception Study in VR Environment
  • Presence and Cognition

We invite submissions of:

  • Full Papers (up to 10 pages)
  • Short Papers (up to 4 pages)
  • Poster Papers (1 page)

All accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings and will be included in ACM digital library (EI-indexed). Authors of Selected Full papers will be invited to submit an extended version of their manuscripts for possible publication in the Journal of Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds by John Wiley.

Submission

Papers and should be submitted in the PDF file format and Supplementary materials (e.g., videos) should be compressed in the ZIP file format through EasyChair [Submit here].

Formats

Authors are required to submit anonymous fully formatted papers, with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for final publication. Please use the ACM SIGGRAPH paper preparation guidelines. Authors are also required to submit a PDF version of the paper that contains the paper’s online ID number, without any author identification. No hardcopy is needed. Please be careful to keep the PDF version anonymous (in some operating systems, the “properties” of a PDF file may contain the creator’s name).

Paper Length

The maximum length for a full paper submission is 10 pages. The maximum length for a short paper submission is 4 pages.

Supplementary Materials

Submissions may be optionally accompanied by additional materials such as images, videos, or electronic documents. These materials do not form a part of the official submission and will be viewed only at the discretion of the reviewers. All content should be in a portable format that is unlikely to require the user to download additional programs (for example, PDF or HTML for documents, JPEG for images, and QuickTime or MPEG for video). Additional materials should not exceed a total of 40MB. To the extent possible, accepted papers should stand on their own, with the MPEGs providing supplementary information or confirmation of results. However it is appropriate to refer to the video footages in the paper.
