Introducing FUTULELE, the Ukulele for iPad and iPhone

FUTULELE is an upcoming Ukulele synthesizer for iOS. Although it can work on a single iPad, similar to our well-known guitar synth OMGuitar, Futulele really shines with a special guitar-shaped case that holds both an iPad and an iPhone, which are connected to each other via Bluetooth.

We have managed to reduce the chord switch lag to a minimum level and capture every little nuance of a high-grade professional Ukulele instrument. You can use up to 12 chords for each song, and change chord sets on the fly. Full recording and sharing possibilities come straight from OMGuitar, as well as the effects section.

To tell the truth, the device composition looks so obvious that we’re wondering why no-one has thought of this before, but still – this is a completely new way of producing music with iOS devices.

Trying to reflect the obvious connections between the future and the past, we have chosen the famous Elvis Presley’s song “Can’t Help Falling In Love” (1961) as the title song for introducing the potential new-born urban legend instrument [in a 1 minute video here].

The iPad+iPhone ukulele case pictured in the video is a prototype. We are currently looking for manufacturers who are willing to produce Futulele cases, preferrably with embedded speakers. Please contact us if you have any ideas!

Amidio Inc (www.amidio.com) have announced FUTULELE, an Ukulele synthesizer for iOS. One of the most remarkable features of Futulele is that it can be operated with the iPhone (iPod Touch) and the iPad simultaneously, in a way that has never been introduced before.

It is not a secret that many iPad owners also have an iPhone, so Futulele is an excellent and innovative reason to get the best musical juices flowing out of both. A special guitar-shaped case holds the two devices, making it possible to select the chord on the iPhone and strum along the iPad screen, just as on a regular instrument. Changing a chord requires only one tap, and the strumming technique is easy and convenient. No external wires or hardware accessories are needed, since the devices use Bluetooth for communicating.
