3rd Zip-Scene Conference on Immersive Storytelling

NOTE: We aim to carry out this conference preferably as an offline event based in Budapest, should the circumstances of the current pandemic permit. The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the event program. When sending the abstract, please indicate whether you are planning to attend physically the event or you would prefer to present online.

Dear Colleagues,

We have an open #callforproposals for the 3rd Zip-Scene Conference on Immersive Storytelling (30 September – 2 October) organized in Budapest, at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in partnership with ARDIN. This year we are especially interested in interactive storytelling projects or analyses that deal with some aspects of speculative design and future forecasting. More information briefly:

The conference is dealing with various aspects of interactive storytelling. We are looking forward to receive abstracts from researchers and/or practitioners who are working on the following topics especially if they are related to #speculativedesign:

  • Games-based performing arts practices using new technology tools (especially we are interested in performing art practices since the pandemic started)
  • Interactive storytelling methods
  • Interactive videos
  • Video games
  • Location-based technology (with augmented reality)
  • Virtual reality experiences & movies
  • Augmented reality in interactive storytelling
  • Interactive Museums
  • Immersive environments (media archeology and phenomenological approach)
  • Transmedia storytelling
  • Speculative design&interactive storytelling

Proposals may be for a paper or a panel and should be related to at least one of the conference themes. Deadline for submitting the proposals is May 15, 2021. Please send us your abstract (max 350 words) and a short bio (max. 300 words) to the address: zipscene@mome.hu and please in CC: bakk@mome.hu. The papers will be reviewed by the conference committee. If your proposal will be accepted you will be given 20 minutes for your presentation.
