The main deadline for proposals is Monday 15th January 2018, while the deadline for research workshop proposals is Friday 16th March 2018.

Your proposal must be submitted via the EasyChair website at the following URL: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=evalondon2018

Please note the following:

  • Please submit a summary proposal only of up to one A4 page and up to 400 words.
  • Authors of all proposals selected for EVA London are invited to submit a paper for publication in the proceedings. Papers are peer reviewed and may be edited for publication (both physical and digital). Other presentations may be published as summaries. Further information will be provided when notifications are sent out in 2018.
  • There is a reduced registration rate if you are presenting. However, a number of bursaries for EVA London registration fees are made available each year (please note that we cannot offer assistance with travel or accommodation costs). The application process for burasries will be announced in Spring 2017.
  • We regret that EVA cannot supply letters of invitation or support.

Further details of post-proposal deadlines are available in the EVA London 2018 key dates listing for further details of deadlines. Please contact us if you have any further questions regarding submissions.

PAPERS:

Papers will be presented in 20-minute slots (either in plenary sessions or in parallel) and be associated with a publication of up to 8 pages in the proceedings.

DEMONSTRATIONS:

Demonstrations will be formally timetabled normally in parallel with other sessions, in 20-minute slots. Proposals are invited and should be submitted in outline as for papers, above. However, we will not expect detailed demo requirements until nearer the conference, to allow time for development. For publication, you will be able to provide a 2-page summary describing the demo in association with the formal 8-page paper.

PANEL SESSIONS AND WORKSHOPS:

Proposals for panel sessions or workshops are welcome. Please note the following:

  • A panel session would normally consist of two or more panel members who each make brief presentations or statements, followed by discussion with the audience. We will look for panel sessions which we judge to be of wide interest to the EVA London audience and which would stimulate and engage the audience.
  • A workshop should be a practical tutorial and would normally be delivered in one or two 90-minute sessions.

RESEARCH WORKSHOP:

Held on day one of the EVA London conference, the Research Workshop is an opportunity for postgraduate students and artists to present their work and share research work in progress in an informal and supportive setting. The EVA London 2018 Research Workshop will be held on Tuesday 10th July 2018. A research workshop proposal is for a 15 minute presentation on your ideas, plans or initial results (including a few minutes for questions and discussion).
