The Interaction Lab and Knowledge Transfer Manager manages the Centre for Human-Computer Interaction Design’s Interaction Lab within the School of Informatics. The Lab is a 75m2 facility that provides advanced digital facilities and consultancy services to bring together academic research and teaching with digital practitioners in Tech City and the wider environment.

Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for the management of the Interaction Lab which includes maintaining and enhancing technical resources available in Interaction Lab, managing projects with commercial and academic partners, coordinating the activities of the Interaction Lab Assistant and ad-hoc Interaction Lab student consultants and liaising with potential clients. The Manager will also carry out a range of UX consultancy activities, such as designing and carrying out usability and accessibility evaluations. As such the applicant will be familiar with common techniques and software packages for HCI, UX and Interaction Design. The post holder would also provide training and knowledge transfer to practitioners, students and academics, organizing the outreach and marketing activities.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly organised applicant who can work independently with minimal supervision with excellent verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills.
