User Experience designer

At the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering of the University of Trento Italy, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Interaction Designer to help shaping and implementing new interaction paradigms for the management of digital content.

Working across multiple products, the successful candidate will be required to conduct a range of qualitative and quantitative User Experience activities spanning the entire UCD process. Some of these include gathering requirements, building and using personas and scenarios, building and testing prototypes, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, planning and performing usability testing, and conducting user experience benchmarking.

Excellent graphical design and communication skills (in English) and the capability to work pro-actively and independently in a multidisciplinary group are required.

We are considering candidates at different levels of their career. Candidate for a junior position should hold a degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or related disciplines. People wishing to pursue a PhD may be considered for enrollment in the International ICT Doctoral School for the academic year 2011-2012 (http://ict.unitn.it/). Senior candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent practical experience in interaction design, and a rich design curriculum.

The successful candidate will join an International group of some 35 people working in HCI and semantic-web. He/she will be supervised by Prof. Antonella De Angeli and Prof Fausto Giunchiglia.
