Comcast Center HD Video Wall gets a dose of 3D for the holidays
by Richard Lawler Nov 26th 2009 @ 3:01PM
Probably hoping to avoid our prediction of possibly getting old over time, Comcast is introducing a new wrinkle for the 2009 Holiday spectacular on its $22 million 2,000 sq ft high-definition video wall — 3D. It’s the first time this has played on the wall, with a 19 minute video complete with scenes of rural PA and downtown Philadelphia. Stop by the Comcast Center between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to grab some complementary 3D specs and check it out.

Comcast Holiday Lights Show in the Lobby
Move over Macy’s there’s a new kid in town.
According to KYW3: Just walking into the Comcast Center is awe-inspiring on any given day, but this holiday season, walking into this building is more dazzling than ever. The Comcast holiday experience envelopes you from the opening seconds.
The world’s largest LED video wall brings the holiday experience to life for visitors with 15 minutes of song and dance. The images of the holidays are so vivid you feel like you are there.
It mesmerizes the crowd as a 64 piece orchestra creates the sounds that take you through the storyline with dancers, actors and singers.
It took David Niles and a cast of many four months to create the show.
With shows running every hour free of charge in the Comcast Center, it is the beginning of a Philadelphia tradition certain to warm the heart and dazzle the mind this holiday season and years to come.
“Our vision was to create a 21st century experience that captures the spirit of the holidays for the Philadelphia community, local families, and visitors to enjoy for free throughout the holiday season,” said Brian L. Roberts, Chairman and CEO, Comcast Corporation. “The Comcast Holiday Spectacular is a gift to the greater Philadelphia community that we hope will bring decades of joy and entertainment to anyone who views it.”
The Comcast Holiday Spectacular will be shown daily for the public at the top of the hour, seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., beginning November 27, 2008, through January 1, 2009. (Shows are not hosted at 5 p.m. on weekdays.) Comcast Center is located at 1701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Philadelphia.
