DESCRIPTION
The Merchant Venturers School of Engineering would like to appoint a talented individual to join the Department of Computer Science. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated potential in areas related to two or more of the School’s current research groupings, especially in computer vision, computer graphics and human-computer interaction.
You will have a desire to engage in interdisciplinary research with several of the School’s research groups, across the university and beyond. You should also be willing to engage in the teaching of Computer Graphics as well as taking an active part in the development of our unique Masters degree programmes.
You will join the vibrant Merchant Venturers School of Engineering, which sits within the Faculty of Engineering (http://www.bris.ac.uk/engineering/), and comprises three departments: Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics and Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Within the School there are ten specialised research groups and strong links with industry. The School is lively and has a very strong international reputation for research in Computer Vision, Robotics, Human-Computer Interaction, Microelectronics, High-Performance Computing, Intelligent Systems, Communications, Networks, Photonics, Systems and Cryptography. It has strong external and industrial links, and collaborates closely with many other Schools including Mathematics, Psychology, Neuroscience, Chemistry, Physics and Law.
