Call: MuseumNext 2015

MuseumNext 2015
Geneva, Switzerland
19 – 21 April 2015

http://www.museumnext.com/

MuseumNext is Europe’s major conference on the future of museums. The event brings together delegates from around the world to discuss ‘what’s next?’ for the museum sector. We are now inviting the international museum community to participate in our 2015 conference by proposing presentations, workshops or panel discussions on the subject of ‘What’s next for museums?’ We are seeking excellent examples of today which shine a light on the museum of tomorrow.

The conference will be a dialogue about what’s next in all aspects of the museum, including architecture, exhibitions, technology, skills, collections, conservation, purpose and leadership.

All presentations should deliver thought provoking insight, showcase innovative ideas, reveal ‘how to’ or even share stories of what not to do.

At the end of each session we want delegates to be able to take away knowledge that they can apply to their own work.

FORMATS

There are three ways to participate in the MuseumNext Geneva programme: to make a presentation, to run a workshop or to hold a panel discussion.

Presentations at MuseumNext are 20 minutes long, while both the workshop sessions and the panel discussions should be 1 hour 30 minutes. Please keep these timings in mind when making your proposal.

  • Name or names of those presenting

  • What you expect delegates to learn from your session

HISTORY

Since MuseumNext was founded by Jim Richardson in 2009, the event has acted as a platform for asking ‘what’s next for museums?’ showcasing the best museum practice today to shine a light on the museum of tomorrow.

During this short time we have seen major changes in audience expectations, technology and funding. MuseumNext has been at the forefront of addressing this, bringing together a passionate international community who are shaping the future of museums.
