Associate Senior Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction

The department of Informatics and Media at Uppsala University, Sweden, announces a position as senior associate lecturer in Human Computer interaction. This research area includes the study of the interaction between humans and digital technology; an interaction which in turn forms new digital usage patterns and digital practices. The associate senior lecturer is expected to contribute to the research area of embodied interaction, focusing on pervasive, physical, and social play.

This is a full time position consisting of 50% research and 50% teaching. The post of associate senior lecturer may be held in the maximum of four years with the possibility of promotion to senior lecturer.

To be eligible for employment as an associate senior lecturer, applicants must hold a PhD (or have achieved equivalent scientific expertise) and show necessary teaching experience and skills. The position includes participation in an EU-funded project focusing on interactive hybrid media (physical and digital) cultural heritage installations. The applicant is expected to show documented research experience within one or several of these domains:

  • Interactive design for the muséum context or cultural heritage
  • Play or game design
  • Empirical studies of participatory art, play, or interactive installations
